Local Ontario industries have no controls placed on what they release into the St. Clair River.
Fact:
The quality of the water released back into the river by local plants must be precisely managed and monitored constantly to meet Ontario's Municipal Industrial Strategy for Abatement (MISA) regulations, developed to protect public health and the environment.
Sarnia-Lambton Environmental Association member companies are well below 50%, with many as low as 1% of allowable MISA levels.
